Ghost Ship Part II: S.S. Columbia

Look what I discovered paddling around a bend on the Buffalo River. The S.S. Columbia, sister ship to the S.S. Ste. Claire which recently burned. Once restored, the excursion steamer will travel the Hudson River.

Ford Motor Company, the new owners of the Michigan Central Station, recently held a community open house prior to their renovation of the historic building located in Corktown.

Ford in Talks to Become a Major Tennant Within Michigan Central Station


According to multiple sources, Ford Motor Company is in talks to establish a presence in a redeveloped Michigan Central Station. An announcement could be made as soon as next month.

Facelift

Bedrock Real Estate is working on cornice and pediment restoration at the Christopher R. Mabley and Company complex on lower Woodward. The five 19th century buildings had their architectural ornamentation removed in the late 1950's.

Russell House


This home was formerly located on the corner of Jefferson and Jos. Campau. The house was disassembled and moved to its present location on Burns in 1921. It was reassembled in a mirror image of its original construction.

The house is now on the market and Curbed Detroit has images of  the interior.
